  3. As Muslims across the globe begin through the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ramadhan Foundation congratulates the Muslims on the coming of this holy month and asks for people to pray for the suffering people around the world.
Ramadhan is a time of reflection and pray, a great opportunity to be thankful for what has been given and for taking the time to give in return. This special occasion reminds us all, Muslim and non-Muslim, that we all are part of the same great human family; that we all deserve respect and that we are all worthy to live free of tyranny and oppression in a just and peaceful world.
On this blessed month of Ramadhan, I and my colleagues in the Ramadhan Foundation wish to express to Muslims around the world our congratulations on the coming of this blessed month and for this special time of contemplation, self-sacrifice, and affirmation of our commitment to peaceful co-existence in a multi cultural society.
With so much suffering around the world it is an ideal opportunity for us to pause and think of those around the globe who live in poverty every day. We pray that God alleviates that poverty and that those that are oppressed are free to live their lives in peace and harmony.
Ramadhan is a time to give and we urge Muslims to give to all the worthy causes around the globe, you can do this through our official international relief partner “Interpal” (www.interpal.org)
Islam is very much a part of UK history and multi-cultural society, the UK should celebrates the successes and contributions of Muslims and that’s why the Foundation is working to promote peaceful coexistence with all communities.

  4. Ramadan Mubarak! Help IHRC this Ramadan
Assalaamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu.
We pray that Allah will accept the good deeds and multiply the reward of everyone this blessed month.
This November marks the 10th anniversary of IHRC’s struggle against injustice. The IHRC continues to defend the oppressed abroad with a number of country-specific projects highlighting the situation in places like Turkey, Ethiopia, China, Palestine, Iraq, and Chechnya.
We continue to campaign for prisoners who are held because of their religious convictions, challenging religious discrimination, and countering the media demonisation of Muslims and Islam. The IHRC’s caseworker continues to support the most vulnerable victims of these aggressions.
By the grace of Allah the IHRC received special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council in June this year. More information about our work this year can be found in our newsletter that you can download from the IHRC homepage.
Our work has expanded over the years and we pray that our support for victims of oppression can expand even more with the help of Allah s.w.t.
We humbly ask that you remember IHRC again this year. IHRC relies on its many supporters for their financial and physical support and their prayers, to remain an effective and independent organisation. Please help us stay that way and develop, so that we can help all those asking for our support.

  5. Ramadan Mubarak and salaam to everyone who worships Allah (sat).
Etiquettes of Sehri (food taken at dawn):
Sehri is a blessed meal. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has said: “This is truly a blessing. One strengthens in oneself the habit of getting up early in the morning and to worship Allah and one can offer humble prayers to Him.” The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also said: “Eat Sehri as there are blessings in eating Sehri” (Sahih Bukhari, Kitab-ul-Saum).
At time of Iftar (opening the Fast):
There are some times during the day that are more helpful and assist in prayers being answered, Allah accepts more prayers when the fast is opened. In one saying the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has reported to have said: “No prayer is rejected at the time of the opening of the fast that is offered by someone who has been fasting” (Sunan Ibn Maja, Al-Abwab Al-Dawat).

  6. Ramadan Mubarak everyone!
Just a short note to say that I hope everyone makes the best of Ramadan and does not feel too tired.
I for one prefer the days to be a bit longer as they are now, so that there is enough time to pray, read Quran and cook before iftar.
Everyone operates differently, but its worth taking some annual leave during Ramadan, rather than just for Eid, even if its one day a week, it makes such a difference as you don’t feel as tired and you can make up your sleep deficit better.
My non- Muslims colleagues are fairly accomodating to me when I am fasting, and they are always full of questions which I am happy to answer, and I think it is our duty to explain to non-Muslims where it is possible. After all, the unknown is often what triggers fear.

  8. Hello, I am Hazel Blears and I am delighted to wish you all Ramadan Mubarak.
This is a time of deep reflection for everyone in the UK’s Muslim communities. The messages of peace, compassion and charity that you contemplate this month have meaning for us all, no matter who we are or where we are from.
I want to take this opportunity to mark my respect, to pay tribute to the contributions of British Muslims in every sphere of national life, and to celebrate with you the values that bring us all together.
Thank you for listening, and Ramadan Karim.

  9. Ramadan Mubarak to everyone, muslims and non-muslims.
It’s very pleasing to see Rt Hon Hazel Blears making the effort to wish us all Ramadan Mubarak. A message from all three party leaders on national TV would have also been a positive thing. In any case, I pray that the remaining days of ramadan for everyone goes well and may allah continue to reward us all in this blessed month of Ramadan.

    Khalid
