Shane is our Prince Charming
15th September, 2006

AS one door closes, another has swung wide open at Tameside Hippodrome.
For while Pop Idol reject Zoe Birkett has had to pull out of the theatre’s Chrimbo pantomime as Cinderella, I can reveal that ex-Boyzone heart-throb Shane Lynch has just been confirmed as the Hippodrome’s Prince Charming.
I hear that Zoe, who found fame on the 2001 reality pop show, has finally bagged a recording contract so has had to withdraw from her role as Cinders. But the singleton must be kicking herself now that hunky Shane has stepped in as the man to play Cinderella’s Prince Charming. Zoe had been unveiled as Cinderella at the theatre’s original launch last month, in full panto regalia as the fairytale heroine.

And though staff at the Hippodrome are clearly sad at the loss of Zoe, they can’t contain their glee at the arrival of Shane, most recently seen setting the female celebrity hearts racing on ITV’s Love Island.
My theatre mole gushes: “We just can’t believe he’s really going to be here, and that we’ll be seeing him in the theatre every day. It’s like a dream. None of us can wait for Christmas to come now.”
Shane will be unveiled at an official launch of the panto, alongside other stars of the show at Ashton Town Hall next week.

Cant wait to see Shane in panto .. we will be coming up from brum…
