McCain: concession speech
5th November, 2008
McCain: “We have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly.”
A few boos from the crowd.
“Please.”
Silence.
“His success alone commands my respect for his humanity and perserverence. This is an historic election and I recognise the special significance it has for African Americans. I have always believe that America offers opporunities for those who have the will to seize it.
“Let there be no reason for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on earth.”

I was so very impressed by McCain’s concession speech. He was so gracious and asking for all of us to come together behind our new president.
I didn’t vote for McCain, but after this speech, I felt bad that it was Bush who shut him out. McCain’s a good man, and I hope that he will share in our new vision.
